Rhyming Pairs

A collection of 20 rhyming wooden discs containing 10 pairs with the choice to include a beautiful handwoven reed bowl.

A simple rhyming activity for little ones, each wooden disc includes an illustration on one side and the matching word on the other. Mix them up and let children find the matching pairs.

There are twenty discs in total with ten rhyming pairs of the following items;

Goat / Boat, Hat / Cat, Mouse / House, Snake / Cake, Tree / Bee, Car / Star, Dog / Frog, Bear / Pear, Spoon / Moon and Sock / Clock.

They are ideal for helping with literacy, making pairs from the illustrations or pairs from the words - or mix it up and match the word to the rhyming illustration!

You can extend the activity further by discussing other items which match with the set, for example 'hat, cat, bat, mat' or words with different spelling patterns such as 'bear, pear, chair, stair.' For another addition you can ask children to search around to add things to the set, finding items which match the words already supplied or making new rhyming pairs all together.

Each set comes in a natural cotton bag. There is also the option to include a large handmade bowl to complete the set, made from coiled reed by skilled artisans in Morocco. Bowls measure apprize 16cm in diameter and are ethically handmade.

Safety

Wooden discs are made from beech wood and measure approx 5cm in diameter. We recommend adult supervision when children who are still placing objects in their mouths may be using them. Age recommendation 3+.
